Women's Opportunity Center, Job Readiness

With the different programs and one-on-one opportunities the YWCA of Spokane's Women's Opportunity Center provides, women can tailor our resources and support to seamlessly fit their individual action plan in order to better their situation and well-being.

Services Offered:

The Women to Work Program focuses on assisting women at all levels of the job and career search process.

The Essentials Program is a referral based 12-week program which prepares women to successfully obtain and retain employment. Referral is through DSHS case worker only. For more information call 509.789.9287

Getting Started

To get started with any of our services, you can call the Women's Opportunity Center at 509.789.9281. Call to sign up for a Jump Start Orientation appointment where you can speak with one of our staff members about your personal goals. They can then help figure out what services are best for you, sign you up for Our Sister's Closet and Job Coaching appointments, give you a tour of our facilities, and answer any questions you may have about the Women's Opportunity Center.

Our Impact 

Each year, approximately 700 women utilize the Women's Opportunity Center's multiple resources, including job readiness, soft skill building, action planning, and improving their overall well-being.
Our Sister's Closet helps 1100 women a year prepare for their life and career goals by providing confidence through clothing and other necessities in one-on-one appointments in our donation based clothing boutique.
Our Sister's Closet also helps approximately 600 women a year through open store events, where they are able to freely shop the store for their particular clothing and necessity needs.
Approximately 2100 women visit our computer lab each year, where they are able to connect with the community and find resources that will assist them in obtaining their personal and work goals.
